Your Locally Owned Hometown Grocery Store

Mac’s Sugar City

Like “old hometown doctors”, Mac’s Sugar City Market employees get to know the people in their community. Through familiarity and friendliness, they have established a relationship with their customers, giving them a true shopping experience.

In 1996, Jim Simon and John McDaniel purchased New Iberia grocery store in New Iberia, which had already been in operation for 10 years. In 2015, they then purchased a Jeanerette, Louisiana grocery store, which had been a part of the community for over 59 years, renaming it Mac’s Sugar City Market. Mac derives from McDaniel’s name and the area is commonly known as Sugar City.

Mac’s offers a unique shopping experience and a variety of local fresh products.
